Bridge Resource Management - BRM

During the 3 day course, participants will develop skills and teamspirit to strenghten relationships between the crew. The focus of the course is to extend and ensure safety in order to prevent accidents. Cooperation among the team is crucial for the safety on board. This course will be conducted in small groups to make sure there is a major focus on individual areas of attention.


  • Managing and leading the bridge team
  • Cooperation and collaboration between the bridge team, the engine room team and between the bridge team and the pilot
  • Decision-making on board
  • Decision-making within the shipping company
  • Observing and interpreting situations
  • Standard operational procedures
  • Communication 
  • Cultural differences


The course complies with the certificate of competency requirements as well as the Manila Amendments from the STCW-convention.

Target group:
Captains, chief mates and maritiem officers.

3 consecutive days.
